Thai Iced Tea is the perfect refreshing drink for a hot summer day (or anytime)! Sweet, creamy and full of flavor. Pairs exceptionally well with spicy Thai food.
A super-cold tall glass of Thai Iced Tea is perfect for a hot summer afternoon (or anytime, really!) When we eat out at any Thai restaurant, I love a nice tall glass of cold Thai Iced Tea with a spicy meal.
Here’s how you can make your own Thai Iced Tea at home – for a fraction of the cost! When I went shopping for the tea leaves at the Asian supermarket, the store owner pointed me to Pantai Norasingh – Thai Tea Mix. She let me know that this is the brand most Thai restaurants buy.
This tea mix already contains everything you need to make your own Thai Iced Tea at home; except for the cream. It contains the perfect blend of tea leaves and spices. You’ll notice that it will turn a deep orange color when mixed with water.
This is what the tea mix looks like:
Would you like to save this?
The first step is to steep the tea mix in hot water for about 30 minutes. Simply pour the tea mix right into the hot water, stir well, then add sugar. When it’s done steeping, run it through a strainer into another pot or container. When it cools, you can keep it in a jug and store it in the fridge for up to 4 days.
When you’re ready for a nice cold glass of Thai Iced Tea, fill a tall glass with ice, then fill to about 2/3 of the cup with the tea mix. Fill the rest of the glass with half-and-half, whole milk, or evaporated milk. Add a little sweetened condensed milk for extra sweetness.
My favorite is evaporated milk with just a touch of condensed milk. So good! You can also use this Thai Tea base to make your own Thai Tea Bubble Tea! Simply boil black tapioca pearls (if they are pre-cooked, you just have to boil them for about 5 minutes), rinse in cold water, then add them to your Thai Iced Tea!

Hello Yanti! Thank you!! :) Ironically, it's quite difficult to find Pantai Norasingh brand here in Malaysia! Seems like they might not import it here (weird right?) You can find it online, but it's quite expensive. It seems like there's another brand that's more popular here called Cha TraMue but I have not tried it personally. You can order that from Lazada. Cheers!
